Cult Club at HMV Institute Birmingham

I have to confess, having only been to this club night once (on opening night) I may perhaps not be the best judge. However, I was impressed with the way they pulled off a large opening night.

With several different (alternative) genres over 3 floors and many different rooms there was something for everyone which is essential within my group of friends, with tastes ranging from death metal, through ska and punk to indie. Everyone found a room to hang out in and had a generally good time.

Slight mishap on the stairs regarding over-zealous bouncers determined not to let anyone wait for their friends, but I suppose they can't be blamed for trying to keep people moving and prevent any trouble. Also, putting a large amount of stairs into a building full of drunk people spilling everywhere may be considered a bit of a health hazard as the night gets slippy-er.

All in all, a good opening night, and I would like to go back some time.
